Global Facilitation Team

Lydia is my name, and I was born to dance! In my early 20’s, I had the revelation that dance was a powerful medicine that could connect me to “something Greater” than I had ever known. Inspired by my experiences on dance floors around the globe I have devoted the past 13 years of my life to exploring what it means to use dance and shamanic ritual for healing and empowering the Self on all levels. I understand that in facilitating my own evolution and that of others I am assisting with the global shift that is happening at this time. I have a Masters in education and have been teaching and sharing information and embodiment practices with adults and children for over 12 years. When I found Dancing Freedom I knew it to be the perfect synergy of my passions for dance and shamanism. I am a fully certified facilitator ready to bring the power of moving our bodies to those ready to heed the call. My mission is to use the tools I have gained to remind youth and adults how to embrace their body’s movements and natural intelligence as a means of experiencing life to its fullest. What happens when we remember that life is the dance and we learn to surrender and move to the music? I invite you to come, move, and feel for yourself. I have recently moved to Australia and am excited to co-create community and spread the magic of Dancing Freedom with my beloved partner, Richard Tronson. Look out for our class and workshop offerings. Contact: hikarijin@gmail.com

Sarah Mackota dances the dance of unconditional love, cosmic vibration and rooted intention. Love for all…especially the process. In her own healing path of shamanic empowerment and dance, sound therapy, medicine journeying, Reiki, Vinyasa Flow, Kundalini Yoga, Ecstatic dance, contact improvisation, tarot and priestessing ritual, she embraces life as ceremony. As both the student and teacher on her journey of “enlifenment,” she recognizes the infinite feedback loop that occurs when working with our highest selves in creating a reality that serves the highest evolution of all. As a Dancing Freedom facilitator, with the help of her guides, teachers and community, she channels the energy of deep transformation through elemental Alchemy, pattern reprogramming, soul retrieval, somatic awareness, and loving leadership to empower others to fully embody their prayer and practice for their own life. Holding a sacred container for the flow of grounding, releasing, igniting, expanding and utter stillness, her dance journeys explore the multiple dimensions present within self, spirit and the collective consciousness when we surrender to the medicine and magic of movement. It is her deepest desire, joy and calling to show up and co-create space for whatever source reveals through us, through the divine synergy of our existdance. Contact her at Mackota.Sarah@gmail.com

Helen discovered Dancing Freedom in California and it ”literally exploded my life into dance and music!” She is now delighted to share Dancing Freedom where she now lives on beautiful Vancouver Island, BC. ”There is a great connection between dance, climbing, yoga, sculpting and drawing. When we allow ourselves to get absorbed in the moment, to go with the natural flow of breath and movement, and let go of all self-consciousness, a beautiful thing happens. The body becomes a vehicle for free creative expression – our authentic voice. This brings us into the present moment, and sets us free.”

Helen has been drawing and making art since she was a ‘wee nipper’ and practicing yoga for over ten years. She studied classical ballet from age five to fifteen in London, UK. Discovering rock climbing in her early twenties opened up a new kind of ‘dancing on rock’, and later yoga entered her life – a rhythmic dance where movement is threaded on breath. She integrates this lifetime of wisdom and experience into her teaching. Check out Helen’s website: www.inspiredearthprojects.com

Billa Kigari is a dancer, raw foodist, medicine woman, naturalist, permaculture designer and wilderness dweller.  Her passion is for living in right relations with LIFE, and for re-claiming sacred and ancient ways of deep nature-connection to co-create a limitless natural high.  She constantly pushes the edge in creating a simple, beautiful, natural life: sleeping under the stars, foraging for wild food, bare footing, living with the animals in the wild or regenerating Earth and Culture through biodynamic farming practices.  Her life-long career in community development has given her the opportunity to witness the full spectrum of challenges we humans encounter in our social ecology as we work to create a more regenerative relationship with the Earth.  Because of this, she has become a passionate advocate for Dancing our Freedom to invoke deep authentic expression, nature connection and tribe building potential.  She is the co-founder of BioSpiritual Permaculture and a Tribewanted Ambassador.   Dance with Billa in Noosa and Byron Bay, or in deep retreat at  her Earth Medicine Wilderness ranch in Australia, or annually in Costa Rica or Italy.  See   www.biospiritualpermaculture.com for events and schedules.

She has been immersed in the areas of healing, movement, somatic work & indigenous ceremony for over 6 years, and the visual arts & music for over 15 years. Her weekend-long ‘Medicine Dance’ ceremonies are the culmination of all her previous work, studies & experience. She believes in the wisdom of the Earth, the body’s innate capacity to heal and transform trauma, and the alchemical process of emotions that allows us to experience the fullness of life that is our birthright. Susan travels globally offering Medicine Dance ceremonies & Dancing Freedom workshops.  She teaches a regular weekly class at The Center SF at 7:30 on Tuesdays. Inspired by the mystery of It All, I am excited to design and offer dance experiences that spark others into artful, heartful embodied explorations of their own multidimensional selves. From my self-initiations on the dusty dance grounds of the Australian bush, to the more studious and structured trainings of recent years, following my dancing star around the globe has been a diverse and transformational journey of self-discovery and awakening. From dance I have found that when we allow our Imaginations to interact with our psyches and bodies, what is most alive in us emerges and what is out of balance can be brought back to balance. Through embodied movement we can learn to harmonise the inner and outer dimensions of our experience and open to the depths and mystery of the sacred dance of life. In my classes and workshops, I encourage you to allow this natural and balanced energy to reassert itself within, attuning to the elements and restoring the blueprint of your original wholeness. Music and sound is key to these rituals and activations; and so I invest many hours of careful consideration into each and every playlist. For every class I choose the most uplifting and powerful mix of songs, tracks and sonic codes I can find, to accompany and guide people on their journeys. I have taught classes and workshops in Australia and in the US since the beginning of 2011, and will be setting up ‘shop’ in Australia with my beloved partner, Lydia Marolda, as of September 2012. We are currently the only fully certified Dancing Freedom facilitators in Australia, and we are excited to share this amazing practice with the Australian dance community. as a team and as individuals to the Australian dance community.  Contact Richard at richard_tronson@hotmail.com

Ethan trained as a dancer from the age of 19 to 21 before leaving the studio to find a viable career that suited his need to be in both the kinesthetic and healing worlds. He found this in is his occupation as a chiropractor, but always looked back to freeform dance to find unconstrained access to the greater whole. He first discovered Samantha and Dancing Freedom at Burning Man in 2007 and found himself in the dance journey descending into deep catharsis and regression into his very young self: uncovering feelings that were walled away and discovering resulting newly emergent strengths and sensitivities that came from dropping into that deep space.

He sees Dancing Freedom as a superb vehicle for the exploration of the inner archetypal selves that exist within all of us. He is particularly drawn to leading men through dance journeys, using music, myth, and movement, to break through ingrained left hemispheric dominant thinking patterns and expand connectedness to the many facets of authentic expression of personality that lie within the mind and body. He sees this work as a way for men to let go of rationally dominant thinking and access the right brained and full-body sources of experiential perceptions which are so necessary for fulfillment of our spiritual and emotional and physical potentials.

Nicola Povey is a mother, a community leader, an herbalist and a delighted dancer who serves the earth and her fellow humans through grace, intelligence, and gentle presence.  She shares the gift of Dancing Freedom to weave a safe, supportive, playful and transformative space for her community to grow and play together. People come to her classes to be held in the container of what is in the moment, to dance into union of body, mind, spirit, soul, heart.  Her work will help you discover what the body knows, what the heart has to say, what your spirit aspires to express and where the mind steps into stillness.  You will expand your  capacity to be with yourself and to be with others.  She invites you to dance to let go, dance for peace, dance the dance of joy and greater freedom of being!  Classes held weekly on Pender Island.
