I am claiming and remembering my power. I am remembering to listen for my inner guidance. I am remembering the language of my heart. I have ALL the power within me NOW. I remember I am the ONE I had been waiting for. I carry this message with me every day! — Meghan Dwyer, Raw Food Chef ~ Sedona
Our Training Team

LYDIA MAROLDA, M.A. is the director and lead teacher trainer for Dancing Freedom International. In her early 20’s, Lydia had the revelation that dance was a powerful medicine that could connect her to “something Greater” than she had ever known. Inspired by her experiences on dance floors from around the globe Lydia has devoted the past 15 years of her life to exploring what it means to use dance, authentic movement and ceremony for healing and transformation.

She firmly believes that each and every one of us has a unique role to play in our evolving culture and in the shifting of the current paradigm. She has committed her life to co-creating spaces and opportunities for people to unite to put their pieces of the puzzle together.  She combines her passion for teaching, speaking her truth, organising intentional events and communing with nature, to play her part in weaving our collective visions into the web that we are each a part of. Her purpose is to inspire and empower others to share their gifts. She reminds others to stop playing small, encouraging them to remember that we are all here to work together towards the “more beautiful world our hearts know is possible.” She is a student of life and a teacher who shares her vision for global synergy and collaboration.

Lydia has a Masters degree in Education and Creative Arts in Learning from Lesley University. Before taking the helm of Dancing she was a school teacher for 15 years, working with children from the age of 3 to high school age. She founded Root to Rise: Rites of Passage journeys for young women to help them transition to adulthood in a concsious, supported, and embodied way. She is also the founder of Synergy: Intentional Dance Experience which brings all night drug and alcohol free events to those who wish to “get high naturally.” She has taught classes and workshops to thousands of people around the world, spanning the USA, Japan Australia, Central America and Bali. She currently lives in Melbourne, Australia, weaving community and sharing dance alongside her beloved husband and musical alchemist, Richard Tronson.

SAMANTHA SWEETWATER, M.A. is the founder of Dancing Freedom and PeaceBody Japan, synergizing body-centric practice, soul empowerment and sustainability leadership training in an integral offering for individual and planetary evolution. Her transformational offerings create a safe space to open the heart, express the soul, and to reconnect with the self-generating capacity to experience wholeness. A Priestess, Guide, Soul Coach and Author, she leads and loves through authenticity, integral perspective, divine play, and sacred presence. Samantha holds a self-created degree from UCSC in Social Theory and The Dance, is a certified yoga instructor, somatics practitioner, massage therapist, Dream Coach, Reiki Master, and an ordained priestess.
At the age of 13, Samantha dove into dance to save her life and free her soul. Locked in her high school’s wrestling room for long, sweaty hours, she found a sacred vehicle of expression, integration and healing. Immediately. She choreographed epic pieces about spiritual states with no-names, war and peace, strange play of relationship and found a language beyond words for experiencing the way the universe works. After college, she entered a successful career as a professional dancer, director, producer, choreographer and community activist and San Francisco. Injury and an obsession with questions of presence and PRACTICE (over performance) called her to leave the stage and to shape dance as an ever more communal process of transformative experience and collective action. So, in 1998, she developed Dancing Freedom (and the Contact Improvisation based form called Dharma Dance). Since then, she has taught on five continents in such venues as Esalen, Kalani Retreat Center, Harbin Hot Springs and Grace Cathedral, at conferences, festivals and events such as Bioneers, HUB’s “Actioning Your Brilliance,” Earth Dance, Harmony Fest and the Economics of Peace Conference, and with health experts David Wolfe and Gabriel Cousens. She is also the developer and director of the PeaceBody School, Japan. She is currently, is working towards a Doctor of Ministry Degree with Wisdom University.Click here to access her personal BLOG and  KICK ASS WITH GRACE COACHING SESSIONS.

HAMID MARTIN is an embodied and passionate man of integrity who is fully embracing his human experience. He has a deep appreciation for, and a respectful relationship with the natural world. He enjoys a way of life that includes growing food on his family’s permaculture farm, surfing, and dancing.

Hamid has a profound innate awareness of the body and the healing available through it. In his open-hearted approach to life, he has experienced healing of emotional wounds, soul-level traumas, and broken bones from launching off 50 foot cliffs on his snowboard. Through these experiences, he has cultivated an ability to support others in walking through the fire of life.

Hamid has been deeply supported by spirituality and inner awareness. As a young man, he chose to embrace the spiritual practice his parents had been involved with since before his birth. He continues to explore and develop a healthy relationship with Spirit and his own ego.

Coming from an athletic background, and seeking a sense of fulfillment, Hamid’s desire for the experience of being fully alive led him down a path of trying every thing out there from extreme sports to a career in massage therapy. Finally, it was free-form dance that began to awaken his true creative expression. He dove in.

Hamid desires a life of meaning for himself and his community. He left a professional snowboarding career because he wanted more. After experiencing the deepest state of surrender through spiritual practice, and bringing this surrender to the dance floor, Hamid found his purest and fullest experience of being ALIVE. Even though his fear of stepping into the unknown tried for years to prevent him from stepping into his role of dance facilitator, he could not avoid his soul’s calling. It was too painful not to step out and risk it all to follow his dream.

His commitment is to live his dreams and support others in discovering how to do the same. His life mission is to support people in living an embodied life in which they feel free and safe to explore and express the fullness of this human experience.

Hamid says, “If we could express ourselves fully authentically, with total freedom, what would that look like? On the dance floor, and in the daily dance?”

RICHARD TRONSON  is on a mission to activate the deep, present and wild intelligence of the body and to learn to listen to the world from that place. A committed dancer and world-bridging DJ, Richard also has multiple degrees, most recently with a Diploma of Dance Movement Therapy from the Phoenix Institute of Melbourne, Australia.

The dance and embodiment experiences he designs are infused with love, his own somatic wisdom and are facilitated with a deep respect for the earth. Using a diverse range of somatic, therapeutic and eco-intuitive technologies, his approach is to ignite artful, heart-full and healing experiences that both empower and inspire people to come closer to the human and non-human world they are a part of.  He was the first to bring Dancing Freedom to Australian shores in 2010 and is excited to be a part of the next phase of its evolution.

Since he began sharing DF with his partner, Lydia,  they have shared the practice with thousands of people in Australia and abroad. In addition to sharing regular dance classes, Lydia and Richard, began their own dance and embodiment business, ‘Dancing Seeds’ running regular workshops as well as offering a diversity of other transformational offerings with thousands of people in Australia and abroad.

CHEN LEHNER is the registrar and Logistics coordinator for Dancing Freeodom International. Chen grew up at the late Harbin Hot Springs and began practicing conscious dance and movement before he even knew that’s what he was doing. As a trained Bodyworker, Counselor, Dancing Freedom Facilitator, and Life-Coach he offers a diverse set of tools and resources. His greatest joy lies in creating a deep sense of peace and well-being in all those he touches
