Evolution | Transformation | Sovereignty | Unity
‘Mother Gaia wants to be in dialogue with us and when we dance through this practice, our hearts, bodies and beings become receptive enough to listen.’
– Phoenix (Lead Visionary & Teacher Trainer)
When you walk into a Dancing Freedom space, you arrive in a place and a community where you are fundamentally welcome to be yourself. Please wear comfortable clothing that supports your freedom of movement.
Every class invites you to have a total body/mind/soul/spirit experience through the layering of somatic, shamanic, ecstatic and expressive invocation. The facilitator gently and subtly infuses his or her teaching with aspects of all four pathways to embodied oneness.
Please do not wear any kind of synthetic scent.
We are carving out new pathways, so that our deeper
wisdom can take us where we need to go.
of a Typical Two Hour Practice
~ Arrival ~
The experience of arriving sets the tone. Come early, ground, relax, open your heart. Open to whoever of whatever shows up – it’s all the guest!
~ Circle ~
We gather as sacred mirrors and human friends. The circle is the SPACE OF COMMUNITY. This is a time for you to check in with yourself and to become aware of your personal prayer(s). The circle has its own intelligence – it will reflect and expand your individual experience if you let it. Being in a circle is about listening for and making space for the voice of the community to emerge through individuals.
~ The Teaching ~
Empowering inspiration, liberation and participation for the fulfillment of human potential and spiritual growth. We take time to focus the prayer of the dance through a single theme or teaching. Remember – your life is the core teaching. The theme given by the facilitator offers an opportunity to connect the lessons that are appearing in your life with bigger themes in spiritual and self-development.
~ Elemental Wave ~
Our playlists travel EARTH, WATER, FIRE, AIR and ETHER – an ecstatic, shamanic, alchemical wave. The wave creates a progression energy that has a Beginning, Middle and Ending. The elements are REAL allies that reflect and support different qualities of consciousness and transformation.
~ Harvest ~
At the end of every practice, we take the time to GATHER the insight gained through the practice. We harvest the knowing of the body, the heart and the higher self. These are the primary three layers we explore again and again in stable practice over time. This stable, consistent mindfulness check in helps each you as the practitioner to identify and deepen awareness of the self. You will start to identify and understand the different layers of knowing and experience that are happening all the time within your personal orgasmic experience of being a human/spirit. At the center of the practice is the choice to show up in the space of awareness to see what’s there- to access deeper connection to the real experiences, learning, passages, and insights of your life.
~ Share-back ~
We sit with another and simply share our experience. This is intimate. It can feel very vulnerable for some people. It bridges the practice into a shared space of communication. When we speak and are heard or listen and see another, we expand our awareness of the experience we have just had and of what has happened for others within our practice community. We grow together. Sometimes we also journal.
~ The Inner Dance ~
When we have time, we do a second cycle of practice in duets. This is a more subtle and internal space where we go deeper into the material of our prayers and our Harvest. It is an into-me-see practice where we hold each other in sacred equality. One person dances with his or her eyes closed while the other witnesses in a space of compassionate non-judgment. We dance for a particular amount of time – often 10-15 minutes. Then, we switch roles. In the Inner Dance, we invoke the sacred position of the witness and the sacred position of the dancer – the still-point and the creator, Siva and Shakti. The inner dance reflects the primal dynamism of the universe within which all of existence happens as a dance between the active, creative, material aspects of consciousness and the still, subtle, fields based and transcendent aspects of consciousness. In the Inner Dance, each person has the opportunity to experience each role. Each role implies both a giving and a receiving and a deepening of self-awareness as it relates to one’s own life dance.
~ Closure ~
Clear endings are a great gift to consciousness. We complete our practice with a final Harvest circle, a thanking of the space, our support team of elements, ancestors, directions, guides and guardians, and a gesture of closure and grounding. WE dedicate our practice to peace, freedom and love for all beings.
everything is connected
everything is sacred
Layering of Embodied Intelligence
Freedom and structure are not opposite. Rather, a clear structure makes a safe space for people to experience greater expression, vulnerability, trust, healing, connection and transcendence. We create a practice space that has integrity and consistency. It is a loving container designed so that consciousness can expand, heal and grow.
~ Somatic ~
We ground, center and expand through body-based awareness and patterns.
~ Ecstatic ~
We traverse an elemental, alchemical wave.
~ Shamanic ~
We partner with everything – with our ancestors, our guides, the land on which we dance, the directions, the elements, the higher selves of all people in the space, and the oversouling energy of humanity’s conscious evolution, or the “spirit of oneness.”
~ Expressive ~
We encourage and invite active imagination and full creative expression.
~ The Field ~
We set the Field. We bring presence, love, attention and intention to the space, the people, the energies present and the prayer intent we bring to the unfolding process of a class or event. Either out loud or internally, we invite in the guides, guardians, ancestors and directions. In some spaces, you will find a physical altar, smudge, anointment or some other marking of the ceremonial process of arrival and being in sacred space. FEEL the energy/space/time container you are a part of: all bodies, all realms, all time, all space.
~ Poetic Alchemy ~
We Create Poetic Alchemy – Words are power. Words shape consciousness. We will use words, the music and our intent to create a fertile field for the inner process. Invocation + Useful Information: we will focus on invoking sensitivity, awareness, engagement and alchemy. To balance the delicate process of creating a nurturing environment with a gentle but firm push to facilitate growth, healing and self-awareness.
~ Invoke ~
We will invoke: Energetic, Emotional and Physical Experience, Awareness and Release, Somatic, Emotional & Energetic Sensing and Feeling into Action, the senses as a gateway to Intimacy with the Universe (True Tantra), Inner Connection and Outer Expression.

Practical Pathways for Living & Dancing Freedom
Oneness starts with ME
Each of us a fractal of the ONE, and each of us is a unique expression of the infinite MANY. Living in Oneness means embracing the One as the Many and the Many as the One at the same time. Oneness excludes nothing, no exceptions. Unconditional love includes everything, no exceptions. Living in oneness means dancing with EVERYTHING as a part of a WHOLE universe that is ever evolving through our choice to love it – as it is.
It’s chooser’s choice all the time. You are the one choosing. No matter how you may feel, or how things appear, you always have the ability to choose how you respond to life in every moment. You will not always have the freedom to choose what happens in your life, but you always have the ability to choose what quality of consciousness you respond with and what stories you want to believe about your experiences, emotions and options. Conscious choice is the difference between responding and reacting. Integral freedom means living life as an unfoldment of responses, not a string of reactions.
Peace begins with ME
Peace happens in relationship. Peace is not something “out there.” It either exists or does not exist because we cultivate it inside ourselves and bring it into all of our relationships. When we find the inner source of peace in our hearts, we find the ways dance that peace in dynamic expression, creativity, relationship and work in the world. From this inner peace can we create a world of peace.
Sustainability is an INSIDE job
Sustainability begins with the qualities of JOY & CURIOSITY. Self-love, self-esteem, self-trust, sufficiency, resiliency, courage and stamina follow. Sustainable people understand that real value is held in experience, not in objects. When we live these qualities, we are more likely to care for ourselves, the earth and our communities. Sustainable people DANCE!
My BODY is my home
Your body is where you LIVE and LOVE and EXPERIENCE everything! Your body is the temple for your heart, your mind, your soul and your spirit. It is wise, intelligent and responsive to your thoughts, desires and emotions. Whether you think it is or not, it is the perfect body for you, and only you can love, honor and take care of it.
I am NOT my Body
That’s right – you are a spirit IN A BODY. Your consciousness is contained in and expressed through your body, but is far more vast and more subtle than your physical form. When you dance, you can contact ALL of your consciousness through your body.
Moving is creating
Our dancing is a way of praying – of collaborating deeply with creation to bring the unseen into feeling and form. Energy, intention and action come before form. What we can feel and express is already manifest in the subtle realms. When you dance your prayers, your dreams, your truths and your desires, you bring them into life and breathe them into form. You connect to the lost art of prayer through feeling that what you most desire is already true, already manifest.
Wholeness is a Process, not a Destination
Nature moves in cycles and spirals. Stop trying to get somewhere and let the place where you already are be ENOUGH. Listen with your whole self to what is already happening. BREATHE. Breathe again, and again and again into the vortex of the present moment and sensation. Bring all your attention and awareness here, to your body, to your feelings, to your emotions, to your sensations. This is where wholeness begins and ends. You are exactly where need to be. All power exists in the here and now.
I do MY DANCE
No one else can do it for you! THIS IS YOUR SPACE TO KNOW YOURSELF. So, do it. Dance it! You have a unique purpose, life path and heart. Your shadow, your wounds and your gifs are unique in all the universe. So DANCE BIG, explore, express, feel and BE YOU.
I let the Dance DO me
Move ENERGY. Move with, through and as energy. Stir the pot of your soul. Simply let go. Partner with the universe. Everything is relationship. Nothing is not relationship. Everything is an oscillation of waves and particles, holographic and fractal. The universe is a dance. You are the universe dancing. Why not let go?
Why? Because you can. The experience having a human body is a great miracle. The universe is evolving with immense speed, and we are a part of that evolution. We co-create the upwards spiral of consciousness through our own awakening. When we bring joy, gratitude and praise, we raise the vibration of our cells, emotions, thoughts and of our world. We bring more life to life, more love to love and more harmony to the universe.
I am FOR Life
As dancers, as beings, when we choose to serve life, we can’t go wrong. When we say YES to life, we are dancing the tune the universe has given us as our destiny. When we steward all of our relations by feeding love into the unfoldment of our days and our actions, life in return serves us. This is the divine right of Kings and Queens- to bring forth a radiantly abundant kingdom by serving the beauty, intelligence, wholeness and empowerment of all beings within the community.
Oneness excludes nothing, no exceptions.
We see each person as a unique soul who is here to embody their gifts, lessons and presence as a part of the living tapestry of life. We welcome ALL PEOPLE who comes in a good way with a good heart, a good mind and a ready body. Unconditional love includes everything, no exceptions.
We have one rule: You can not do it wrong.
There are three primary guidelines that flow from this one basic rule:
✧✧✧ Our Guidelines ✧✧✧
Keep dancing. The dance is our meditation. So, we bring our attention again and again back into the dance practice to see what happens, what arises.
Pay attention. The depth of your attention and awareness will determine the outcomes of your practice. Attention plus intention create depth in prayer. Place your attention on the dance to find out more about yourself and move more deeply into your potential as a person, as a creator, as consciousness.
This is a Non-Verbal Space. Use movement, sound, breath, energy, texture, repetition, theme and variation, copying, countering and stillness within the space of practice. We bridge into the dance of words during Harvest – after we have danced.
Dancing With Your Eyes closed As Much As You Wish. Start the dance with your eyes closed. Tune to the inner experience of your body and your awareness. Unplug from the labeling and knowing function of the visual sense. During the practice, feel free to work with your eyes opened or closed – to come out into connection or to go within to connect with yourelf.
Touch Is Sacred. Contact improvisation and connection are welcome. Listen to what feels appropriate. Respect your own boundaries and the boundaries of others.
This Is A Substance-free Space.
